I have been working in shops for roughly 20 years, I am very detailed oriented, not known for making mistakes or breaking things. My come back history is very minimal.
I would say that I am a B- tech, but I am also capable of performing many technical tasks. I have a full set of tools, Snap-On, Mac, Matco, and Cornwell, and I am also good at problem solving.
I have plenty of experience with:
Oil changes-can reset most oil change reminders
Fluid Services
Brakes-Disk and Drum
Suspension
Alternators
Power Steering Pumps
Valve Cover Gaskets
Belts
Engines
And all the other little things that keep a car running.
I have found that a good place for me would be in a busy shop, where I take care of all the small, no brainer task, so the lead tech doesn't have to stop doing their job. I don't ask for help, unless it's it's two person job, or something that I haven't done before.
For the last 10 years or so, I have been working as a lube tech, and managing other jobs in between oil changes. I am not a diagnostic tech, or a master tech either. I am a R&R tech, that is fairly efficient, and requires no supervision to complete the task at hand.
