We are looking to bring on a part-time dispatcher for our afternoon shift. This is a hands-on, board-based role — no dispatch software involved.
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 2:00 PM – 7:00 PM
Responsibilities:
• Coordinate driver assignments and container pickups/deliveries using our physical dispatch board
• Track truck status, load progress, and driver availability in real time
• Communicate with drivers, customers, and terminals to keep drayage moves on schedule
• Monitor basic diesel fleet maintenance needs (fluid levels, tires, visible wear)
• Report any mechanical issues to the mechanic at the end of each shift, for each truck
• Keep dispatch board records accurate and up to date throughout the shift
Requirements:
• Experience in trucking, logistics, or drayage dispatch preferred
• Familiarity with diesel truck basics and common warning signs
• Strong communication skills, able to multitask under time pressure
• Comfortable with manual/board-based dispatch (not software-based)
• Reliable, detail-oriented, able to work independently
