Why chestnuts?
Deer go for chestnuts before acorns. They're sweet and low in tannin, and they drop in early fall. Chestnut trees often start producing within a few years.
What we have:
PQK chestnut seedlings, $40. 3'–5' tall in 3-gallon grow bags, about 30 lbs. This is the University of Missouri UMCA® line. Bigger trees are available.
Other chestnut varieties, including Dunstan, Sleeping Giant, Hiram, Amy and Empire Elite
Nuttall and water oaks, $25. These are 12'–14' trees that are good for wet ground and bottomland. Supply is limited.
Who are we?
EBB Farms is a working chestnut farm and nursery partnered with United Chestnuts. We plant and test these trees in our own ground first. We're happy to help you plan what to plant and where.
How do I get them?
You can pick up at the farm, or we can ship by UPS in season.
