My small business is in Old Town Eureka, so an ideal commute would be within 30 minutes of there. I love rural, but can be happy with something in town with garden space. I like Eureka, Freshwater, Bayside, and Arcata. Excellent local references, credit score 750.
When I lease, I'll care for your home as if it were my own. Excellent references (average rental span 3+ years), rents always paid on time. When I move on, the home and its garden are usually in better shape than when I first arrived. My security deposits are returned in full.
My ideal budget is $1,000 to $1,350. If your rental has a large shop, barn or other work space on the premises, I may go higher. Some landlords give reduced rent in exchange for the extensive, ongoing garden and landscape work I can get done on shaggy, overgrown properties with seemingly overwhelming brambles. I can blast away invading brush and berry thickets to reveal the formerly smothered plants beneath.
For several years I owned a horse property . I restored its creaky old farmhouse to something solid and beautiful. Had the plumbing & wiring upgraded. Wallpapered the interior, painted the two-story exterior. Photos on request. I know water well systems, septic systems and electric fencing, poultry management and lots more. No cultivation of weed, nor do I smoke anything.
I'm easy going, have decent people skills, prefer diplomacy and flexibility to drama. No loud parties, sometimes friends over for dinner. I'm sort of a bookish/nerd type, peaceful and self-contained. I value the importance of getting along with neighbors, and helping each other out in emergencies.
I love all phases of gardening and landscaping. There's nothing like heading out in the morning to see what's new, fork over a compost heap, trim some over-enthusiastic foliage back to its original footprint. I've been well trained in the art of corrective pruning for fruit trees and roses. I like to help my friends and neighbors with yard work, pet and farm sitting etc.
