Specialized Mountain Bike-Solid Ride - $500 (Marina)

I bought a very basic Specialized Pitch since it has such a solid frame.
Then I upgraded several parts of the bike. I did have someone put the Brakes and Gears on it, so it cost me a little bit more due to Labor, but it was well worth it. Initially, I wasn't able to make it up the big hills at Fort Ord or Santa Cruz Hills. Then I changed the gears and I was beating people up the hills, instead of getting off my bike and walking.

Start with this bike, once you get the feel, and know what type of bike you want to invest in. Throw down that big dollar and put this bike back on Craigslist for someone else that is getting into Mountain Biking or you can be like me and want to sell the Mountain Bike and now want a road bike. Yes, the bike has some scratches, I have taken some big falls head over handlebars, but nothing happened to the bike, just some scratches.
