Overview
We are seeking an experienced bi-lingual (Spanish/English) professional to provide financial and operational oversight for a small manufacturing business in Puerto Rico. This is a largely remote position with oversight responsibility for the profitable performance of the business. A background in understanding metal fabrication, tooling and stamping and related machinery requirements would be helpful. This individual will report to and work out of dedicated offices in Marietta GA three to four days per week remotely overseeing staff in Puerto Rico. Occasional travel on-site to meet directly with team members, for audits or customer relations will also be required.
This is an excellent opportunity for a highly experienced manufacturing professional, a or a former business owner especially someone who is retired or semi-retired and looking for a part-time to full-time opportunity. The position will provide for performance bonuses structured to reward the controller for profits and growth of the business under his/her leadership.
The ideal candidate MUST speak Spanish and English and will have a strong background in the financial side of a manufacturing business.
IMPORTANT LOCATION INFORMATION:
This position is based in Marietta, Georgia (metro Atlanta area). The position is being advertised in the South Florida market as part of our recruitment efforts. Applicants must be willing and able to work in Marietta, GA. This is not a South Florida-based position.
Responsibilities
Oversee and coordinate day-to-day manufacturing operations in Puerto Rico remotely in an ISO regulated facility.
Provide operational leadership and oversight of local management and employees.
Oversee raw materials purchasing, procurement, inventory, and supplier relationships.
Manage tooling requirements, tooling costs, and vendor relationships.
Stay informed on production process and production planning assuring efficient scheduling, quality, and collections.
Review job costing, labor, materials, tooling, and manufacturing expenses.
Plan for and manage company financial performance, costs, margins, and cash flow.
Prepare monthly financial and operational reports and communicate results to ownership.
Identify opportunities to reduce costs and improve productivity and profitability.
Troubleshoot manufacturing, purchasing, tooling, and operational issues.
Develop and improve processes, controls, and reporting.
Coordinate with customers, suppliers, and vendors as needed.
Travel to Puerto Rico periodically as needed.
Required:
Significant experience in metal manufacturing and/or metal stamping.
Strong knowledge of tooling, dies, and manufacturing processes.
Experience with purchasing, procurement, and vendor management, customer relations.
Experience overseeing manufacturing or plant operations.
Understanding of manufacturing costs, job costing, materials, labor, and margins.
Strong leadership and problem-solving skills.
Ability to effectively oversee operations remotely.
Strong communication and organizational skills.
Excellent references.
Preferred:
Previous Controller, Plant Manager, Operations Manager, General Manager, or successful business owner.
Experience with manufacturing accounting and financial reporting.
CPA or accounting background is a plus, but strong manufacturing and operational experience is equally important.
Compensation: Competitive and based on experience and performance.
