Looking for the perfect head-start on a custom van build or unique utility rig? This 1987 Ford Econoline high-top is fully road-worthy, runs great, and has all the heavy lifting on the structural interior already taken care of!
The History & Build:
- The Origin: This local project came out of Brownsville, Oregon, went to Main Street Automotive, and then headed to a shop in Cottage Grove.
- The Custom Work: The interior was stripped of its original '80s shag carpet, and the entire floor was completely preserved. Over a dedicated three-day build, a heavy-duty wooden storage platform flooring and custom ceiling soffits were put in.
- Utility Use: It has spent its life as a sleeping habitat and has been driven successfully between Eugene and Cottage Grove multiple times recently. (Note: There is no mattress included; it is legally set up and sold as a custom storage and utility platform).
Mechanical:
- Proven Runner: Starts right up. After a good warm up, it is fully good to travel and road-worthy.
- Newer Mechanics: The previous owner recently had the brakes and tires done (newer condition). Single fuel tank setup.
- High-Top Roof: Excellent interior headroom—a massive bonus for camper conversions.
- Paperwork: Oregon plates with a clear, signed title in hand and ready for transfer.
The Project Elements (Priced Accordingly):
- Single Captains chair layout; needs a seat belt bolted into the cab before regular driving.
- Insulation ready
- Power windows are currently untested/not working
- classic wing windows
- working lights
- Cab needs cosmetic TLC sun visors reattached, molding, etc.
- driver and passenger door panel need to be built
- Windshield is sealed, but there is still a leak to track down.

- This is a running project with a solid body and great bones.
