A 1950s lineman's test phone—often called a "butt set" or "buttinski"—is a heavy-duty, portable telephone used by technicians to test local loop lines, dial tones, and line conditions. These vintage sets were equipped with alligator clips to splice directly into copper lines and features a rotary dial.

This is a vintage BELL SYSTEM WESTERN ELECTRIC Lineman's Rotary Line Tester Handset. Condition is Used. It's in good condition for its age. Still has the clip that they used to attach it to their tool belt. Has the wires with the clips that connected to make the test.

Would be a great gift, conversation piece, museum acquisition, collectible, cosplay item, cool steampunk/industrial punk accessory.
Not sure if it works. You'd have to get it checked out or try it out on a line with pulse dialing capability if you wanted to use it. Sold as-is, no warranty or returns, sale final.
