Mean City Cycles – Motorcycle Seat Upholstery
Mean City Cycles is looking for an exceptional sewing and upholstery craftsperson to join our team.
This is not a high-speed production sewing position. We are looking for someone who takes tremendous pride in their work, pays attention to the smallest details, and wants every finished piece to be as close to perfect as possible.
Responsibilities
Cut vinyl, leather and other upholstery materials using our existing patterns
Properly position and lay out patterns before cutting
Sew complete custom motorcycle seat covers
Maintain straight, consistent seams and precise stitch work
Work with multiple panels, curves, piping and other upholstery details
Inspect your own work and correct anything that does not meet our quality standards
Produce consistently high-quality finished covers from start to finish
Who We're Looking For
Experience in furniture upholstery, automotive upholstery, marine upholstery, custom sewing, sample sewing or similar work is highly desirable.
More important than speed is craftsmanship.
We're looking for the person who notices when a seam is slightly off without being told. Someone who would rather redo a piece than send out work they aren't proud to put their name on.
You should be comfortable working independently from established patterns and handling both cutting and sewing of the finished product.
Schedule
We are primarily looking for a full-time employee, but we would absolutely consider an exceptional part-time candidate for the right fit.
If you are an experienced upholstery sewer who still loves the craft and takes pride in producing outstanding work, we would like to talk with you.
Principals only. Recruiters, please don't contact this job poster.
