This is a very well documented corner notch from Sumner County Tennessee. From my personal collection, this Kirk was once in the well known Malcomb Parker collection. Upon his death, it wound up in Dr Cushman's collection and still retains his catalog number; then to my collection. Malcomb's collection was spread to the wind but many collectors that knew him are still actively pursuing any of his artifacts. Bifacially beveled with fine serrations. I find the serrations to match the Kirk corner notch variety and a nice example of Tennessee Kirks. The material resembles a type of local jasper/chert that I'm familiar with from the mid-western border with Kentucky.
