Looking for a first-generation 1951–1954 Hudson "Step-Down" 4-door sedan project car or roller shell to build into a vintage custom rat rod.
I am located in Michigan and looking for a project car in the $2,000 – $5,000 price bracket.
What I’m Looking For:
• Body Style: 4-door sedan preferred (Hornet, Super Six, Commodore, or Pacemaker shells are all fine as long as the structural frame lines match).
• Condition: Incomplete projects, stalled builds, older barn finds, or complete basket cases are exactly what I need. I am perfectly fine with a frozen engine, missing drivetrain, or rough interior.
• The Crucial Part: The body sheet metal needs to be restorable, and the model-specific exterior stainless trim and glass should be as complete as possible. Most importantly, the main perimeter frame rails underneath must be structurally sound enough to build on (minimal deep scale/rot on the core unibody rails).
If you have a stalled project sitting in the back of your garage, barn, or yard that you’re ready to clear out, please send me a message with a few pictures, a brief description of what parts are included, and your asking price.
Cash in hand and ready to bring a trailer for the right car. Thanks!
