Pay Rate: $23.00 / Hours
***Schedule Now: Every Saturday morning, 7:00 AM – 12:00 PM (Guaranteed). Immediate training and possible weekday fill-in shifts.
***Schedule Starting December: Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM. Current CNA leaving on maternity.
About Me and The Role
I am an easy-going 51-year-old male with Muscular Dystrophy looking to hire a motivated CNA to expand my private care team. I handle all my own hiring and scheduling. I am ventilator-dependent, non-weight bearing, and use a power wheelchair. I am verbal but have some speech issues. I live with my father and sister, who provide a highly supportive, welcoming environment and can step in to help when needed.
I am looking to for a reliable caregiver on board right now for a guaranteed Saturday morning shift so you can get fully trained, comfortable with my routine, and serve as my caregiver in Dec. This role is ideal for someone looking to secure steady weekend work now, with guaranteed full-time daytime hours opening up later this winter. No prior ventilator experience is required—proper, comprehensive training will be fully provided.
My Routine Duties
Daily Support: Assist me with activities of daily living, dressing, meal prep and hygiene.
Mobility: Safe positioning in bed and transfers using an electric Hoyer lift.
Routine Care: Routine trach care and suctioning (I will fully train you on this).
Outings: Drive me to appointments, out for lunch, or just to get out of the house. I own a specialized, accessible van for us to use (must be able to push my scooter up a ramp).
Around the House: Help me answer/make phone calls and assist with light housekeeping/laundry.
Love the outdoors in the summer, not so much in the winter.
Requirements
Valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record (you will drive my accessible van).
Ability to pass a standard background check and clear NPI verification.
Reliable, punctual, and dedicated to maintaining patient independence.
Compensation & Benefits
Hourly Pay: $23.00/hr funded through the State of Illinois (IDHS).Convenience: Direct Deposit available.Perks: Medical and Union benefits available through the state program.
