Speaker Connector for Ampeg Speaker Cabinet - Late 1960s / 1970s
This male connector is typically installed in Ampeg speaker cabinets. Unlike the newer production units with their irregular (bumpy) and chrome-like (shiny) finish, these parts are smoother and have a nickel-like finish similar to the original parts found on vintage Ampeg cabinets.
Ampeg used the 4-pin approach to avoid amplifier damage if the head was powered on without a speaker load. Pins 1 & 4 are used for the speaker connection (usually black and green wires) while pins 2 & 3 are jumped together within the connector in the speaker cabinet.
If you’re restoring a vintage Ampeg amplifier/speaker, this part will help you maintain that OEM look.
