I'm looking to get into freight/trucking dispatching and I'm looking for an owner-operator or small trucking company in the Minneapolis–St. Paul area who would be willing to let me learn the business hands-on.
I'm not claiming to be an experienced dispatcher. I want to actually learn how dispatching works by working alongside someone who is already doing it.
I'm interested in learning and helping with things like:
• Finding and evaluating loads
• Calling brokers
• Negotiating rates
• Booking loads
• Rate confirmations and paperwork
• Communicating with drivers
• Tracking loads
• Handling delays, detention, layovers, etc.
I'm willing to start by shadowing or helping part-time, including unpaid initially if necessary, in exchange for the opportunity to learn from someone experienced.
My goal is to become genuinely good at dispatching—not just complete an online course.
If you're an owner-operator or small carrier who could use an extra set of hands and is willing to teach someone motivated, please reach out.
Minneapolis–St. Paul area preferred, but I'm open to remote arrangements as well.
