Hello, My name is Richard. I am an older gentleman who thinks young. I am alone with no pets (but I do love them)
I have lung cancer. I have not been able to work in a month and I am very soon getting out of the hospital (maybe today)
My problem is that I am homeless and I need a place to plug in an air machine that can keep me alive. I have a mini van I can sleep in. My problem is that I need an electrical outlet for that machine. That is all I ask for from you. An electrical outlet for the extension cord I will buy. Homeless shelters do not accommodate someone in my situation, and if I could afford a room, that is what I would have done. I have spoken with a hospital social worker, any my situation is so unusual, that as of now, she has no options for me.
You deserve to know about me. I am very friendly and outgoing and conversational. I am well read and very quiet. I do not drink. I have never done illegal drugs, and strangely enough, I have never been a smoker. I have a great sense of humor. Somehow, even now, thankfully. I can go anywhere in greater Wichita. The zip code / map means nothing. I just had to plug in a number.
I don't know one person in Wichita. I came here on a work assignment with a paving crew and they have moved on. My point is, I would have no visitors to make even a whisper with. I read a lot. I have friends that I email with. I am patient and helpful if I can be. I can also be weak, and I have never had this oxygen situation before, so there are aspects of this I have yet to discover. If I am able to help you in some way, I am happy to do so.
I am flexible. I would not need to knock on your door for a restroom or food or water. I would drive for those needs.
I really do need just an outlet. If you give me just that, I can make it. I need my sleep and that has become erratic lately, so I ask you to use the relay email, but from there we can arrange to talk.
I am looking to improve my situation, but for now. I need just an outlet. I need to be in Wichita because "continuity of treatment" has been stressed to me as very important. As of this day, I am not able to work, but I am doing all I can to get better, and I hope I can work again soon. I hope to be able to afford a room if I can be good enough to work.
For now, just an outlet is life to me.
If you have any questions, please ask. I am an open book.
