Wishful thinking, but I am posting because I am looking for a small room or living situation where I can make Santa Barbara my home base but leave as often as I want and not have remorse due to the price of rent.
I have been living in Santa Barbara on and off since 2015 when I attended UCSB and love living here, but also I work fully remotely in tech and have the liberty to explore and want to take advantage of that.
I am looking for something around $600.
I am very respectful, currently live in SB with a retired gentleman where I am renting a room in his home for $1200, but I am looking for something a lot cheaper so I don't have to feel married to SB. I know what I have is already amazing and I am grateful for it but that being said, I am looking for a much lower cost so I don't feel bad forgoing the cost of rent to travel and see other places and also have a reliable place to come back a month or months at a time.
