We are an established electrical contracting firm servicing New York City and New Jersey, specializing in commercial renovations, industrial facilities, refrigerated spaces, and food-processing facilities. We are seeking an experienced Electrical Estimator to join our team and play a key role in securing and managing electrical projects from the initial bid invitation through final proposal and client follow-up.
Responsibilities
Review and evaluate bid invitations, drawings, specifications, and project requirements.
Prepare accurate and competitive electrical estimates and proposals.
Perform material and labor takeoffs and develop project pricing.
Manage the estimating process from bid invitation through proposal submission and follow-up.
Communicate with general contractors, owners, vendors, subcontractors, and suppliers.
Follow up with clients and prospective customers regarding submitted bids.
Identify potential project risks, exclusions, and scope gaps.
Assist with value engineering and cost-saving opportunities.
Coordinate with the company's project-management and field personnel as projects are awarded.
Maintain organized estimating files and project documentation.
Qualifications
Minimum 5 years of electrical estimating experience, preferably with an electrical contractor.
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Strong knowledge of electrical construction and estimating methods.
Proficiency with AccuBID and Microsoft Office.
Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, specifications, and construction documents.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Experience with commercial, industrial, refrigerated, or food-processing projects is highly desirable.
Compensation & Benefits
Salary: $85,000–$125,000, depending on experience and qualifications.
