It is a specialized, multifunctional hybrid design popular during the mid-20th century. When closed, it serves as a compact accent, end, or occasional side table. Two independently operational side leaves lift up to significantly expand the tabletop work surface. The center top is built on a hinge that lifts up to reveal a deep, specially molded storage compartment explicitly lined in anti-tarnish cloth to organize and protect a complete set of fine silver flatware. It features a combination of lower functional drawers and hinged top, outfitted with traditional brass-finished drop bail drawer pulls.
