About me:
My name is Mia, and I am a classically trained singer and pianist. I am also a working performer and music director. I have a BA in vocal performance and an MA in Music Ed. I have been teaching in a wide range of capacities for 21 years, first in NYC, and here in Lincoln for the past 15. I have taught with LPS, Union University, and at Blue Raven Music Studios.
What I Offer:
- lessons for all ages 5 and up
- absolutely all levels welcome and honored
-drop in coaching for singers/musicians preparing for auditions/extra help with current projects
-music theory/improv
-optional performance opportunities with 2 recitals a year and open mic nights throughout
—>I provide a framework for learning that is tailored to the individual student’s learning style, goals, background, and personality. I take great pride in the safe, inviting, and nonjudgmental learning environment I have created and continuously fine tune.
About the Space:
I teach in my home in the Woods Park area on/with my most prized (and recently acquired) possession: my late grandfather’s 1927 Steinway Grand. I have taught for years on keyboards, and I can say with confidence that there’s simply nothing like learning on/being accompanied by a grand piano in perfect condition. And it makes teaching that much more joyful as well!
