Weaned, eating good and using the litter box.
We have 2 solid black, 1 light orange/tan, 1 calico, 1 black & white (think paint horse/holstein cow), 1 dark orange with white mittens & highlights, 1 steel grey with white mittens & highlights and 1 tuxedo looking black & white.
The kittens we have tamed previously have become really great, loving & friendly house cats.
Before I get more hate mail for having kittens to give away, please understand we have a 107 acre farm with 9 barns & outbuildings. The cats ARE absolutely necessary!
We didnt fix the mother because to be honest, cats get picked off by preditors so much on that place, its unreal and we rarely have them last 6 mo to a year. These 2 mothers must be very smart to stay alive long enough to reproduce! We spent hundreds of dollars doing the right thing & fixing all our cats when we first moved there. That group was all gone 6 months after spending all that money! We do plan to live trap these mothers that have managed to survive and have them spayed now that they weaned their babies. Its a real balancing act having farm cats. Even if we do get ours all fixed, other peoples dumped, ferel cats often show up and start having babies! It just gets to feeling like throwing money after foolishness to fix every ferel barn cat. Its a struggle.
The best we can do is hope someone else wants a cute little kitty that we dont want killed by dogs, coyotes, owls, eagles, hawks, foxes, coons, skunks, etc and have it fixed, and give it a good home.
