Job Summary: We are partnering with a local manufacturer in their search for several Maintenance Technicians. The ideal candidate will be the go-to troubleshooter on shift — diagnosing and repairing mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and basic electrical issues across production and packaging lines (filling, sealing, labeling, case packing, palletizing, conveying). This is an independent, hands-on role for someone who finds root causes instead of swapping parts.
What you'll do:
· Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and basic electrical faults on production and packaging equipment
· Diagnose using schematics, equipment manuals, electrical prints, and fault codes
· Replace bearings, gearboxes, drives, and seals using proper alignment, tensioning, and torque practices
· Perform line changeovers and centerline setups independently; verify lines run at standard rate before release
· Execute the preventive maintenance program and recommend changes based on real failure history
· Document downtime and work orders accurately; flag repeat failures and bring them forward with supporting history
· Support sanitation/CIP equipment readiness where applicable
· Mentor junior technicians and communicate clearly at shift handoff
· Follow lockout/tagout, confined space, elevated work, GMP, allergen, and food safety procedures without exception
What you need:
· 3+ years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment (or equivalent demonstrated capability)
· Ability to troubleshoot independently and find actual root causes
· Ability to read mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical schematics
· Working knowledge of power transmission, alignment, bearings, gearboxes, pneumatics, hydraulics
· Working knowledge of electrical safety, motor starters, sensors, and basic VFD functions
· Experience with a CMMS for work orders, parts, and downtime tracking
· High school diploma or GED
· Availability for off shifts, weekends, holidays, and emergency call-in
Nice to have:
· Regulated manufacturing experience
· Familiarity with ammonia refrigeration / Process Safety Management
· Ability to read PLC fault messages and navigate HMIs for diagnostics
· Technical certificate or apprenticeship in industrial maintenance or mechatronics
Physical / environment: Production floor of a manufacturing plant — moving machinery, wet surfaces, cleaning chemicals, loud noise (hearing protection required); refrigerated, ambient, or mixed-temperature areas; work at elevation, in confined spaces, and around pressurized/energized systems. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
