I have an aod transmission out of a 87 Mercury Monarch. I bought this transmission under false presenses. Councilman Steven Mitchell of shady Grove Oregon sold me this transmission for $1,200. It was supposed to be rebuilt. It was not rebuilt. I took him to court and won a judgment that he has never paid. If you know councilman Mitchell please give him a call and urge him to do the right thing. It's been over a year and this asahole hasn't even responded to court request. The transmission itself was installed in my vehicle and I found out that everything worked except for the overdrive. When you're driving down the road is supposed to shift between 45 and 55. This one does but you have to let off the gas a little bit to get it to engage. I put new front and rear seals, a new chrome pan $55 with a drain plug and a new filter. The aod transmissions also comes with (everything) you need to convert to a 4-speed Automatic with a floor shifter Lokar and saddle ($560). The flex plate is new $40 the starter is new $140, the block plate/ spacer plate is new $35
The Throttle Valve cable is new from Lokar $215. Just a reminder that there is an issue with the overdrive. I've heard of a lot of different scenarios and repairs but it's nothing I'm going to do I've had enough. The previous owner of my truck welded the clutch pedal to the floor and I had no idea that I had the ability for a manual transmission. That's exactly what's going to happen. He's a liar and a thief. He knew he was selling me a bad transmission. The day after I got the transmission I dropped the pan and found a bunch of sludge and stuff which I started investigating and found out the transmission was not rebuilt. I would not do business with this guy again and this is my warning to anyone involved with this jerk. $500 or best offer.
