I only have one small unused room with carpet in it. So this wasn't used very much. But the times I did use it, it was very easy. Pull the trigger going forward, to spray the rug. It picks it back up when you pull it back. You won't believe the amount of dirt it gets out of the carpet!
In great shape, never had an issue with it. Comes with enough solution to use it right away. It only takes 2 ounces or so, the rest is water. I was able to clean the whole room before I had to empty the waste tank.
