Job description:
Lead Heavy-Duty Suspension, Alignment & Tire Technician
Expedited Truck Alignment is looking for an experienced, bilingual Lead Technician capable of performing heavy-duty truck repairs and managing the shop’s daily operations.
This is a hands-on position. You will work directly on trucks while coordinating technicians, inspecting completed work, communicating with customers, and keeping jobs moving efficiently. We need someone who can take ownership of the shop floor and make sound decisions without requiring constant supervision.
Primary Responsibilities
Diagnose and repair heavy-duty truck suspension and steering systems
Perform tractor and trailer alignments
Diagnose irregular tire wear and alignment-related problems
Install, balance, rotate, and repair commercial truck tires
Replace kingpins, bushings, tie rods, drag links, torque rods, shocks, wheel bearings, wheel seals, brake components, and related parts
Assign work and provide direction to other technicians
Inspect completed repairs for quality and safety
Manage workflow and ensure jobs are completed on time
Communicate repair recommendations clearly to customers in English and Spanish
Help prepare estimates, work orders, parts lists, and invoice notes
Coordinate parts ordering and maintain inventory control
Keep the shop organized, productive, and safe
Handle operational problems and customer concerns professionally
Report job progress, delays, and important shop issues to the owner
Required Qualifications
At least 3 years of experience in heavy-duty truck suspension, steering, alignment, tire service, or diesel repair
Strong knowledge of commercial truck suspension and steering systems
Experience diagnosing uneven tire wear and mechanical problems
Able to perform suspension and tire work independently
Fluent or highly proficient in both Spanish and English
Previous leadership, foreman, or shop-management experience
Valid driver’s license
Able to safely lift heavy parts and operate commercial shop equipment
Strong attendance, communication, organization, and decision-making skills
Comfortable speaking with customers and explaining repair recommendations
Able to maintain quality while working in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Experience
Heavy-duty tractor and trailer alignment
Kingpin replacement and bushing reaming
Wheel-bearing and wheel-seal replacement
Air brake and suspension repair
Commercial tire sales and service
Parts ordering, inventory management, estimating, or invoicing
Supervising and training technicians
