Position Overview. We are seeking an experienced and reliable Structural Welder with MIG, TIG, and ARC welding techniques to join our team. The ideal candidate will be skilled in reading blueprints, fabricating metal components, and performing high-quality welds with consistency and attention to detail. Materials welded may include steel, stainless, aluminum or various alloys and the methods may include gas welding, shielded metal arc, gas-tungsten arc, gas-metal arc or submerged arc.
Key Responsibilities.
• Perform MIG, TIG, and FCAW welding on various materials following detailed schematics and AWS codes & standards
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and welding symbols
• Fit and assemble structural steel parts according to specifications
• Operate cutting torches, grinders, and fabrication tools
• Set weld machines to optimum parameters for work in accordance with WPS
• Maintain tools, equipment, and a clean work area
• Utilize crane and forklift operations safely for material handling and assembly tasks
• Ensure weld quality meets both internal and industry standards
• Inspect completed work for accuracy, structural integrity, and compliance
• Collaborate with fabricators, engineers, and supervisors to meet project timelines
• Follow all safety procedures and promote a safe working environment
Requirements.
• Proficiency in GTAW, GMAW and FCAW welding (steel, aluminum, stainless) materials required
• Understanding methods to reduce weld metal volume, arc time per weldment, rework and scrap, work effort, motion/delay time and other areas of improvement in welding practices
• Ability to read and understand blueprints, schematics, AWS codes & standards, mechanical principles and metal fabrication processes
• Able to set weld machines to optimum parameters for work in accordance with WPS
• Familiar with structural steel shop fabrication tools and machinery, including material handling equipment such as overhead and jib cranes and forklifts, is required
• Physical ability to lift, bend, and work in various positions
• Strong attention to detail, reliability, and commitment to quality
Welder Qualification Test. Must be able to pass our flux core weld test in the vertical position prior to hire.
Education & Experience.
• 3 or more years of recent professional TIG/MIG welding experience
• 3 or more years of metal fabrication experience
• Completion of technical training in welding; or related experience and/or training
• Welding certification(s) preferred but not required
Schedule & Salary Range. This role is a fully onsite, full-time position, scheduled Monday through Thursday, 10-hour shifts, and may require overtime work. The expected pay range for this position is $24 to $32 hourly, depending on experience, qualifications, and industry background.
