I have 3 beautiful Dorper Ewes, 7-8 years old. They are healthy and people friendly.
I have grass-fed them all their lives and they have thrived without shots, grain, pesticides, etc.
If you're looking to start your own flock, getting ewes a little older is an economical way to begin. They tend to have twins (not always) which can double your flock quickly.
Dorpers are really good meat sheep. They have hair instead of wool, so there is no shearing needed. The lamb meat is delicious and healthy, especially if they eat only grass. (You will be able to get higher prices on the lamb you will sell that's pastured with no grains, no pesticides and herbicides, etc.)
Sheep need pasture and fencing designed for sheep and goats, or they may find a way out. Barbed wire will not keep them in.
A protector dog is recommended as long as it's non-aggressive with the sheep.
I am very attached to my flock, but I have to get out of the sheep business for a season. These are my last three sheep, so they go as a group. If you are interested in buying them, I will need to have a conversation with you first.
In the photos, the white sheep are still shedding their winter coat.
Please reach out to me with any questions you may have. The amount listed is for all three. I take cash only.
