Mid-Century Modern electric fireplace with heater that works from the 1960s to the 1970s.
"Fire" is made by using a spinning red and white tube with light bulb inside, and that light shines out through a decorative "wood" shell made of fiberglass. A button on the side lets you turn the light on or off, whether you use the electric heater or not.
Inside the fireplace is also an electric heater that runs off a thermostat you set on the side of unit next to light button.
Both the electric heater and light work, and this funky retro piece looks fabulous in a 1960s/1970s room. Light surface wear and scratches, and dusty with light corrosion on the inside.
This heater may have had brackets to hang on a wall at one time, but we do not have them. We set this heater on the floor, and have set it on a dresser or lower side table at times, too.
$100 cash. If you see this listing the fireplace is still available.
