We're looking for a Kitchen Assistant to join our small Japanese ramen team from Monday to Saturday, starting as soon as possible.
You'll support our chef with food prep, help keep the kitchen running smoothly and contribute to creating a great experience for our guests. No previous ramen experience is required—we'll teach you everything you need to know.
We're a small, close-knit team that has been working together for several years. We work hard, support each other, and enjoy what we do. We all prep, we all wash dishes, we all clean up together—and after a busy day, there's often time for a drink together.
We're looking for someone who wants to become part of our core team for the long term. Alongside our regular service, we also host special ramen pop-ups with guest chefs from Japan and Michelin-starred restaurants, giving you the chance to learn new techniques and work on unique events.
Your tasks include:
- Assisting the chef with daily food prep
- Preparing ingredients for service
- Portioning and plating dishes
- Packing and preparing our ramen kits for shipping
- Keeping the kitchen clean and organised
- Dishwashing and general kitchen support
English is the main language in the kitchen, so German is not required.
Working hours
Working hours are scheduled between 10:00 AM and 8:00 PM, Monday to Saturday. Shift lengths vary depending on the day and the role.
What we're looking for
Experience in a professional kitchen, catering or food production is a plus, but it's not essential.
What's more important to us is your attitude. We're looking for someone who is reliable, enjoys working in a team and takes pride in doing things well. Since we're a small operation, everyone contributes to creating a great experience for our guests. You should enjoy interacting with people, have a friendly and positive attitude, pay attention to detail, and genuinely care about serving excellent food with warm hospitality.
A willingness to learn matters far more than years of experience.
We welcome applicants of all ages, backgrounds and identities.
Compensation
We offer €16–22 per hour, depending on your experience.
You'll need:
- Tax ID (Steuer-ID)
- Registered address (Anmeldung)
- Social security number (Sozialversicherungsnummer)
- Valid food handling certificate ("Rote Karte")
Employment
The position will initially be on a freelance basis. Our goal is to transition to a part-time employment contract as soon as possible. We're looking for someone who wants to become part of our core team and grow with us over the long term.
A paid trial shift will be arranged before we get started.
If you're interested, please send us a short introduction about yourself together with your CV by email. We'd love to hear from you!
