Testing the waters here on my beloved 1965 Jag.
Not surprisingly, my favorite Fender neck I've ever played. Smooth, comfy, great action. Have original trem arm, trem works great. Set up last year by LA tech Ryan Gleason. Work included a level, crown and polish of frets, new foam under the original pickups for proper height, new Gabriel Tenorio strings.
Because of the early '65 date stamp on the neck, Ryan figures this is basically a pre-CBS guitar. Even though Fender had already sold to them, it took a good part of a year for the effects to be felt in production.
All original EXCEPT:
- Olympic white refin
- mastery bridge upgrade
Tragically (and embarrassingly) the original case was ruined by flooding in my basement a few years ago (the guitar was in my studio don't worry!) I can throw in a Mono standard short scale case. If this thing is speaking to you, let's talk! I love this guitar, but l prefer standard scale to short scale, so I'd prefer a Jazzmaster. Thanks!
