Does anybody need a generator transfer switch installed? I am a licensed commercial master electrician of over 25 years but I do smaller residential jobs on the side occasionally. I have been installing generator transfer switches more than any other service and because of the elated nature of my customers knowing they'll never have to be without power again, I'm going to start focusing solely on generator transfer switches.
I feel now is the time to really make it known that installing a transfer switch for your home is a lot cheaper than you probably think. For parts and labor I charge a total of $700 for a 30 amp setup or $850 for a 50 amp setup. If you know what others are charging for this same service, you can see why I've been spending most of my free time on installing transfer switches. As long as you have a generator on site when I do the install, I will simulate a power outage and train you how to switch everything over to the generator and then how to switch everything back over to utility power once it has been restored.
Once a big storm hits and many of us lose power, I always text all of my generator customers to make sure they are all able to switch their houses over to generator power successfully. I will affix a custom sticker on the inside of your panel explaining each step to take but if for some reason you aren't clear on one of the steps to switch things over, you are welcome to text or call me at any time. Because I do have a full time job on the commercial side of things, I don't have a ton of time to spare so it is first come first served.
Even if you simply have a question regarding what kind of generator is best for your house, please ask away! I'd love to help you.
