This ladder rack is solid steel construction and is designed for smaller pickups. I have had it on three different Ford Rangers, a 1997, 1998 and 2004 over the last fourteen years and it has been great. It won't fit the Dodge Dakota I bought, so time to part company. It might be hard to tell in the photos because I didn't completely reassemble it, but it is designed to mount to the bed of the pickup, the side wall and the top rail of the bed. It has three crossmembers that keep it super sturdy. I have carried a lot of loads on this rack in addition to ladders; fencing, plywood and sheetrock and it has been solid.
It is 11 feet long and 52 inches wide. From the rear floor mount to the top of the cross member it is 41 inches high and the space on the middle supporting stand is 17 inches from the floor mount to the mount that sits on top of the bed rail. It has no damage and a fresh coat of paint. It served me well for many years and will do the same for you.
