Diesel is nearly $6/gallon in Houston again. If you've ever considered making your own biodiesel, now might be the time.
For sale is my NWR Alternative Fuels Independence 80-gallon biodiesel processor. I bought this system several years ago and personally used it to produce thousands of gallons of biodiesel from waste vegetable oil.
This is not an unfinished home-built project. It is a purpose-built biodiesel processing system originally sold through Northern Tool and is set up for heating, mixing, processing, washing and filtering biodiesel.
Features include:
Approx. 80-gallon batch capacity
Electric inline heater
Circulation/processing pump
Methanol/catalyst mixing system
Digital process controls
Water-wash capability
Dry-wash/filtering capability
Valves, plumbing and associated equipment shown in photos
I used this system successfully for several years. I'm only selling it because I no longer have the country property and shop space where I used to make biodiesel.
For perspective, 80 gallons of diesel at today's Houston price of roughly $5.87/gallon is about $470 at the pump. If you have a good source of used cooking oil and operate diesel trucks, tractors, generators or equipment, producing your own biodiesel may be worth looking at again.
The processor has been sitting unused and should be cleaned and inspected before being put back into service. It is being sold as-is.
Great setup for a farm, ranch, homestead, diesel enthusiast, alternative-fuel project, or someone with access to waste vegetable oil.
