Learn On-Farm Meat Processing This Fall – Hands-On Workshops in Jonesborough, TN
Have you ever wanted to learn how to process your own meat?
Whether your goal is greater self-sufficiency, raising your own livestock, or simply understanding where your food comes from, we'd love to teach you.
At Perennial Acres Holmestead, every animal we raise for our family's table lives—and is processed—right here on our farm. We believe processing livestock on-farm reduces stress on the animal, allows us to evaluate its health firsthand, and gives us complete confidence in where our food comes from.
This fall, we're opening that knowledge to others through our hands-on Farm Processing Series.
Fall 2026 Workshop Schedule:
🐔September 5 – Poultry Processing ($100)
* Learn to humanely process and package chickens.
* Perfect for homesteaders, backyard chicken keepers, or anyone wanting to become more self-sufficient.
* Take home your processed chicken and the provided knife
🐇 September 12 – Rabbit Processing ($100)
* One of the easiest and most approachable livestock species to learn on.
* Great for beginners interested in raising their own meat.
* Take home your processed rabbit and the provided knife
🐖 November 7-8 – Whole Hog Butchery Masterclass ($75/day or $125 for both)
* Learn how to take a hog from carcass to freezer-ready cuts.
* Includes instruction from culling and eviscerating all the way to breaking down the carcass and preparing a variety of cuts.
