Here's a genuine piece of Marshall history: a 1987 Silver Jubilee 50-watt head, from the very first year of production, with transformers dated from Oct. 1986! Marshall built the Jubilee series to commemorate Jim Marshall's 25th year in business, and these amps were only made for a short run in the late '80s before being discontinued, making early examples like this one increasingly hard to find in good condition.
Tonally the Silver Jubilee is revered for good reason. It bridges the gap between the crunchy British breakup of a classic Plexi and the higher-gain, more saturated voicing of the JCM800 that followed giving you everything from sparkling cleans to thick, singing lead tone with a distinctive midrange growl. The Jubilee has remained a favorite among the greats too: Joe Bonamassa uses the Jub’ as a staple in his million-dollar rig, and John Frusciante has used them extensively both live and in the studio with RHCP.. not to mention Slash.
All major components are original. No mods, no replaced transformers or components.
A rare chance to own a first-year example of one of Marshall's most musically distinctive and rarest designs.
