About the Position
Jerry’s Services Unlimited (JSU) is looking for a reliable, motivated Door Hardware Installation Helper to assist with residential and light commercial door hardware installation projects.
This is a great opportunity for someone who is mechanically inclined, comfortable using basic tools, and interested in learning a skilled trade. Extensive door hardware experience is not required. We are willing to train the right person.
Our projects include high-end residential homes and other properties throughout Long Island and surrounding areas.
Responsibilities
Assist lead installer with door hardware installations
Install and assist with door handles, knobs, levers and locksets
Assist with mortise locks, deadbolts and electronic locks
Install hinges and door stops
Assist with pocket-door hardware
Assist with bath accessories and related finish hardware
Carry, organize and stage tools and hardware
Help unpack and verify hardware before installation
Keep work areas clean and organized
Protect finished doors, floors, walls and client property
Assist with minor adjustments and troubleshooting
Follow job-site instructions and safety procedures
Maintain a professional appearance and attitude around clients, builders and other trades
Experience
Minimal experience is required.
Construction, carpentry, locksmith, millwork, handyman or door hardware experience is a plus, but not necessary.

Physical Requirements
Candidate should be comfortable:
Being on their feet throughout the workday
Carrying tools and hardware
Using ladders when necessary
Lifting approximately 40–50 lbs.
Working at active construction and residential job sites
What We're Looking For
We are not necessarily looking for an experienced installer.
We are looking for the right person who wants to learn the door hardware installation trade, work alongside an experienced installer, and potentially grow into a more advanced installation position.
Reliability, attitude, attention to detail and willingness to learn are more important than years of experience.
