This1978 Sabre 34 is a classic, highly regarded 33-foot 8-inch fiberglass masthead sloop designed by Roger Hewson for reliable coastal and offshore cruising. A displacement of 11,400 pounds made the 34 a bit heavier than some of its competitors, however 4,600 pounds of lead ballast helped the boat stand up in a blow. This model features solid hand-laid fiberglass hulls and balsa-cored decks. The average retail value for a 1978 model at $23,450, and most well-maintained Sabre 34 Mark I sloops command between $25,000 and $45,000 on the used marketplace.
