Lionel Delaware Lackawanna & Western 4-8-4 Locomotive & Tender 1501, model 6-18003. The DL&W was one of the primary lines providing service to the Southern Tier of New York. This is a Lionel 6-18003 O-gauge Delaware, Lackawanna & Western 4-8-4 Locomotive & Tender #1501 was manufactured in 1988. The road number is 1501 and it features Magne-Traction, Pullman motor, puffing smoke from stack, headlight, steam emissions from steam chest, electronic mighty Sound of Steam, electronic whistle and six wheel die-cast metal trucks on tender. Original box is included. Box shows wear, but still displays reasonably well. When released in 1988 the price was $850.00.
If you are looking for a locomotive for Christmas, this is Lionel's top-of-the-line locomotive, heavy and a world apart from the locomotives that come with a Lionel set. With lights, realistic sound, and smoke (bottle included), it makes quite an impression!
