Whether you’re a young student facing challenges or an adult wanting to refresh your math knowledge, I offer personalized tutoring sessions designed just for you.
What I Offer:
Elementary Math: We’ll cover the fundamentals such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. I’ll help your child build a strong foundation in math through fun activities and engaging exercises.
Pre-Algebra: This is where we introduce variables and basic equations! I will guide students through concepts like fractions, decimals, percentages, and introductory algebraic expressions to prepare them for algebra.
Algebra: In this crucial stage, we dive into solving equations, working with functions, and graphing. I will provide strategies to simplify complex problems and reinforce essential algebra skills.
Geometry: Understanding shapes, angles, and the properties of space is key! I will help students visualize geometric concepts through diagrams and real-world applications to enhance comprehension.
Algebra 2: For those advancing to Algebra 2, we will explore polynomials, complex numbers, and more advanced functions. Together, we’ll tackle challenging topics to ensure a solid understanding before moving on.
Details:
Meeting Locations: I only meet at the Valley Ranch Library in Irving or online for all tutoring sessions. This ensures a focused and resource-rich environment for learning.
Homework Expectations: I assign a significant amount of homework to reinforce the skills we cover in our sessions. Consistent practice is crucial for success in math!
Understanding Your Goals: It’s important for me to understand your goals for tutoring. Are you aiming for top STAAR scores or improving grades? These are two different objectives! The STAAR exam requires not only basic grade-level knowledge but also critical thinking skills.
