Broda's unique Comfort Tension Seating System redistributes pressure for increased long term sitting comfort and support. With the strapping system's ability to conform to the body, proper pelvic and spinal positioning is achieved. With improved airflow, heat and moisture build-up are decreased. Comfort Tension Seating accommodates spinal conditions such as kyphosis and lordosis. With decreased pressure, blood flow is improved and tissues are more able to be oxygenated.
With up to 40 degrees of infinitely adjustable seat tilt and up to 90 degrees of infinitely adjustable back recline, a variety of different positions can be achieved. The chair can be positioned into Trendelenburg, with the feet above the heart to encourage blood flow to the heart. Extending the back all the way down into a flat, 90-degree position facilitates supine transfers, reducing the risk associated with falls and injuries.
Because the resident can be safely supported, slumping, and slipping down in the chair is eliminated. This allows for less use of patient restraints. A Front pivot seat tilt helps maintain a forward line of sight, enhancing socialization and engagement. A lower center of gravity provides industry-leading safety and stability, accommodating severe agitation and involuntary movement. New adjustable wings provide individualized upper lateral support by adjusting in height and width.
The Synthesis includes total lock casters and a single directional lock caster that helps guide the wheelchair through tight spaces. Mid-mount Mag wheels can be added to help evenly distribute the resident's weight over the chair base center, which takes the weight off the front casters and allows caregivers to smoothly push the chair. These wheels, which are ideal for use with heavier residents, are particularly beneficial for use on carpeted floors, thresholds, and sloped surfaces. Mid-mount wheels come with anti-tip rear casters.
Both the patient and the caregiver will benefit from using the Synthesis V4. With fully adjustable positioning, the patient's posture, oxygenation, feeding, and overall comfort is improved. Using the transport chair increases safe patient handling, allowing for fewer transfers and improving fall prevention. Incontinence products can be changed without transferring from the chair. The V4 accommodates hyperextension. Proper seating alignment decreases patient fatigue and postural deviations, reducing the use of restraints. Posterior tilt enhances pressure redistribution, aiding in the maintenance of skin integrity. Tilt and recline provide ease of use for frequent repositioning, helping improve patient outcomes.
