2003 Mitsubishi Eclipse GTS – 5-Speed Manual | Original Owner | Extensive Maintenance Records
If you've been shopping for a 3G Eclipse, you already know what most of them are: automatics, convertibles, project cars with a check-engine light, a rust story, or no history at all. This one is the opposite — the entire car hasn't been beat to hell, inside or out, the way a lot of the 3Gs posted right now have been, and that's why it's priced the way it is.
I'm the original owner. I bought this car new, garage-kept it most of its life, and kept records on everything. 251,000 miles, mostly highway — and the miles are the least interesting thing about it, because the maintenance file backs up every one of them. It was never driven hard. It was pampered, and that's why it's lasted this long. Clean title in hand. Adult-owned, non-smoker. Indianapolis.
The enthusiast spec, not the compromise: GTS coupe (not a base GS, not a convertible), 3.0L V6, 5-speed manual that shifts cleanly. It runs strong with a smooth idle, and it's quick and fun to drive the way a 3G should be.
The expensive jobs are already done — in the last few years:
• Brembo brakes: pads, rotors, calipers, brake lines
• Control arms, tie rods, struts
• Rack and pinion
• Alternator, battery and connectors
• Upper & lower oil pan gaskets
• EGR valve, solenoid, throttle body gasket
Clutch has ~30k miles on it (the original lasted 221k). Timing belt inspected, ~50k miles of life left. Newer Michelin all-season tires, balanced and rotated. Oil changed every 3k–5k miles on synthetic — last change December, under 1,000 miles since.
Body and frame: body in very good shape with no rust; frame solid with only typical surface rust for its age. No paint issues. No interior issues.
Loaded for a 2003: paint protection film (hood, front bumper, fenders, door edges, roof), Ziebart rust protection renewed annually for ~15 years, tint, power seats/windows/moonroof, cruise, ABS, aftermarket rims and upgraded headlights, hardwired XM, dashcam/backup camera, radar-detector wiring (end needs repair), factory CD + AM/FM.
No real mechanical issues. The only quirks, so there are no surprises: dash light occasionally flickers from a bulb mismatch (alternator tested fine), and the factory alarm chirps now and then. That's it.
Extensive maintenance records go with the car. You're not buying a mystery; you're buying a documented one-owner car.
Price: $6,500 OBO. Priced on condition, maintenance, and documentation — not on being the cheapest 3G on the page, because it isn't, and it shouldn't be. Reasonable offers considered.
Serious inquiries only. Test drives with valid ID and cash in hand.
