Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Straight Truck (Bobtail) Driver (Class C) to handle local air freight pickups and deliveries the Houston area. This role involves both driving and hands-on freight handling.
Key Responsibilities
Recover freight from carriers, inspect for damage, and create damage report
Transfer freight between carriers and apply destination labels
Load/unload freight, including weighing and dimensioning shipments
Complete assigned pickup and delivery routes (routes may change daily)
Perform inside deliveries (hospitals, malls, residences, docks)
Handle white glove (unpacking and placement when required)
Safely lift, push, and pull freight (70+ lbs)
Maintain constant communication with dispatch throughout the day
Manage detailed shipments (including serial number-specific deliveries)
Qualifications
Minimum 2 years verifiable straight truck driving experience
Strong knowledge of Houston area and GPS navigation
Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing routes
Excellent customer service and communication skills
Experience using pallet jacks, dollies, and liftgates
Clean background and driving record (MVR)
Valid DOT medical card
TWIC card or STA
High School Diploma or equivalent
Air cargo / airport pickup & delivery experience (preferred)
