The bottom futon mattress is a queen size, but it's not a true queen. It's a "futon queen" and about 5" shorter than a regular queen size mattress. Long story short, you're not going to fit a regular queen size mattress on this. You will have to buy a futon mattress.
My son stopped using the top mattress when I bought him a new one and then he went to college. The top mattress still has plastic cover on it. ($85 value)
The bed is disassembled and ready to load up. It has two 6.5 ft end pieces and a 7 ft bed support frame. You are not going to put this in a car, so make your own arrangements for a truck.
