Position Summary
Dispatchers are the driving force behind our terminal operations. In this role, you will coordinate drivers, manage customer requirements, and ensure efficient transportation operations while maintaining excellent communication with drivers, customers, and terminal staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Dispatch truck drivers for pickups and deliveries at customer locations, ports, and rail facilities.
- Coordinate and monitor flatbed transportation operations.
- Confirm bookings, billing information, and customer requirements.
- Enter and maintain accurate operational data in company systems.
- Communicate customer requests and service updates to terminal personnel.
- Respond effectively to route changes, scheduling conflicts, and delivery issues.
- Support operational efficiency while meeting and exceeding customer expectations.
- Be available to work extended hours when necessary to meet business demands.
- Qualifications & Skills
- Knowledge of DOT regulations and safety compliance requirements.
- Experience in trucking, flatbed, and/or intermodal transportation.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Strong computer and data-entry skills.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Minimum 1 year of dispatching experience preferred.
- Experience in the trucking and transportation industry preferred.
- Must be fluent in both English and Spanish.
