These very large binoculars are designed for stargazing - they are powerful enough to see many nebula and galaxies, and of course the moon and the close planets. They cannot be used without a tripod of some sort, and I am including a basic Celestron tripod and parallelogram mount that makes it easy to view anything comfortably, including wildlife I suppose. The (heavy duty) aluminum travel case can be locked, and the key is included. Two pair of moon filters are included - they screw directly into the eyepieces when needed.
Excerpt from Zhumell site: "Zhumell's Tachyon 25x100 Astronomical binocular is an industrial-strength, field-worthy instrument for astronomy. With 25x magnification, 100mm objective lenses, and a built-in tripod adapter, it offers plenty of power for observing craters on the moon and for picking out features on the planets. It'll even afford good views of interstellar objects."

The binoculars are barely used - I could not figure out the parallelogram instructions at first; I understand it now, but have not been out with it for years. Probably used two or three times for testing purposes.
The parallelogram mount came with a counterweight for balancing binoculars up to 12 pounds in weight, but I had to hang a bag with some more weight on it to manipulate it easily ; possible I mounted it too far from the pivot... the binocs weight 10.2 pounds, and the max weight for the parallelogram mount is 15 pounds.
