1981 MCI MC9 Bus Conversion – TITLED AS MOTORHOME – Runs & Drives Great – VERY LOW MILEAGE -- $13,500 OBO (Cash Sale)
Selling a 1981 MCI MC9 highway coach conversion located in Houston, Texas. Detroit Diesel 8V71. The bus is roughly complete and completely livable. No demolition required and only some finishing remains incomplete. The hard, expensive, and back-breaking work is already done. Perfect project for an enthusiast looking to finish a legendary million-mile chassis to their own liking without starting from scratch.
Priced at $13,500 Or Best Offer for a quick, hassle-free cash buyout. Bring cash, make a reasonable offer, and drive it away. No trades, no financing.
The Good:
Title Status: Legally TITLED AS A MOTORHOME in Texas. No commercial bus hassle or DMV conversion hurdles. Title is clean and in my name.
Mechanicals: The engine runs great and the bus drives reliably. Ready to highway cruise or be driven to its new home. Only odometer is time-based. Shows over 2600 hours, but the vehicle was known in 2013 to have a mileage of just over 26k miles. I have not driven it more than 3k miles and the previous owner likely drove it less.
Electrical: Professionally completed house electrical system. Outlets and lighting are fully wired and functional.
Plumbing: Fresh and wastewater plumbing is completed.
The Project Needs (Why it’s 85% done):
Registration/Inspection: Registration is currently expired and it does not have a current inspection sticker. Buyer will need to secure a temporary Texas transit permit online to drive it home legally, or use a trailer.
Climate Control: There is currently no A/C or heating system installed (blank canvas for mini-splits or diesel heaters).
Plumbing Repair: The plumbing lines leading specifically to the shower need a minor repair/patch.
Cosmetics: Needs your final touch on cosmetic trim, paint, and personal finishes.
Terms: Cash in hand. Clean motorhome title in hand. Buyer is responsible for pickup/driving it away from Houston. PM to schedule a viewing if you have funds ready. First serious cash offer takes it.
