Looking for a place to live and work while I start over.
Hello I am a 46 year old biological female. I currently live in Oklahoma, but I'm originally from the Ohio and Michigan area. I have traveled all over the country, but lived in Arizona and Florida for a good span of time as well. I love the weather here as the snow does not last long, I do not prefer the cold. I have 5 children (now adults) only 1 daughter lives with me. I also have one cat, and a German Shepherd.
I am a hard worker and a quick learner. I have experience in animal husbandry with many small animal breeds. Rabbits, chickens, ducks, goats, sheep, pigs, raccoons, pigeons, and a few other species. I do not have a lot of experience with large animals such as cows and horses, but I'm very interested and eager to learn. I have a lot of experience with plants and gardening. I love mowing the grass. I'm not great with the weed whip as the vibration is painful for my arms, but we can take turns doing it to get the job done. I also have been told that I am a good cook, by more than just my family🙂 I can make an entire holiday feast by myself. I don't use a microwave much, if at all. I actually haven't owned one in 10 years. But don't care if you do.
What am I looking for…. a safe, clean, healthy lifestyle homestead. Where my daughter (20 years old and low vision) and I can live and work, to pay our way. We will be starting over with very little.
A little backstory: almost 3 years ago, we invested everything we had into moving here from Michigan and buying 5 acres of property. We also moved here with my partner of 10 years and her father figure. Long story short, a year ago our relationship ended and I have been trying to find a way to leave the property and I'm failing miserably. We are not married, but I'm in the middle of nowhere, with no vehicle, unable to make my own money, so we continue to be stuck in a situation, where I am a maid because I'm not going to live in a filthy home and a cook because my daughter and I still need to eat.I also take care of his chickens, ducks and dogs (which he collects more monthly) he buys feed. We do all the feeding and watering. unaltered male dogs fighting with each other, that we are dealing with…as well as unaltered female dogs that have to be locked in kennels when they go in heat again, that my daughter and I are having to deal with 24/7( because he works 12-hours 3days a week and 6 hours the 4th day. And doesn't want to do anything around the house when he's not working not even cut wood that's going to keep the house warm) As well as doing all the winterizing, collecting firewood in the woods, because I can't use a chainsaw, (vibration causes a lot of pain)that does belong to me and I will be bringing with me.… All this for someone that I am no longer in a relationship with, who knows that I have no way to get out of the situation. I don't have any family other than my adult children, who I'm not going to burden with my mess, especially when they've just graduated high school/ started college, are getting their first cars, and getting their first place to live on their own. I just can't ask them for help or even tell them what's going on in our life. (Yes my kids are very close and age, I had five kids under the age of five. The last pregnancy was twins.
I need to find a safe, clean environment. Where we can work hard and earn our way so we can feel good about ourselves again and a place where there's no pressure for a relationship or commitment. I need to heal from the last few years. I need to figure out who I am again. I've been with this person for 10 years. And I'm also trying to learn to live with my children, not in my home, as they have recently, slowly…” flown the coop” or “spread their wings” or “ started their own lives” and that is very strange and awkward and painful. I'm not looking for a romantic relationship…. That would not be healthy for myself or anyone else. I want to be a healed, confident person before I think about another relationship. Not a broken, doubting woman, with little to offer a romantic relationship. I would definitely appreciate an honest friendship. Where someone was not afraid to call me out on my b*******, when need be. I feel like a blunt relationship is the most honest relationship you can have.
We do not use hard drugs and do not want to be around them. I socially drink, maybe once or twice a year. I quit smoking cigarettes 21 years ago but I do not care if you smoke. I am 420 friendly. (I do have experience cultivating as it is legal to grow in Michigan)
I have found side jobs in my area, so I do have a small amount of money, to get a U-Haul to move roughly 5 hours from my location.
I do also have knowledge and experience in some automotive repair, home electrical, drywall installation and mudding, tile setting, painting and plumbing.
I do believe in being prepared, so I do have medical supplies, a long term food cash (400 lbs plus),and animal supplies for small animals, so I can grow a few different meat types. I also have a plethora of gardening and greenhouse supplies…and a greenhouse but I have no way to disassemble it by myself. I am only 4 foot 11.
If this sounds like something you might consider, send me a message, tell me about yourself, your situation and you're about your homestead goals. Please include an approximate location and let's have a conversation.
I have no problem sharing photos, but I would like to have a conversation or two before we exchange photos. There's no need to exchange photos if we can't even carry on a conversation.
Thank you for taking the time to read this book and I hope you have a great day.
PS if you are super political (for example you're not friends with people that don't vote the same way as you) and/or you believe in gender transition….. we will not be a good fit.
PSS we eat pork products and my sons are circumcised if these things are against your religion we may not be a good fit.
