Looking for someone local who enjoys tech, smart home gear, and practical troubleshooting to help out part-time.
Hours: Around 20-30 hours/week to start
Pay: $15 – $18/hr (depending on experience)
Location: Work is in the local area, Hilton Head Island is preferred, but open to anyone nearby in Bluffton, Hardeeville, or Ridgeland with reliable transportation.
What you’ll be doing:
Working with Home Assistant to set up, organize, and maintain smart home devices and automations.
General household tech troubleshooting—fixing flaky Wi-Fi connections, sorting Bluetooth drops, pairing hubs, and getting smart gear talking to each other reliably.
Documenting or tweaking setups so things run smoothly without constant headaches.
What we’re looking for:
No traditional coding or software development required.
You should be comfortable using modern AI workflow/coding tools like Cursor, Claude Code, Grok, etc. to help figure things out, debug configs, and solve problems quickly (looking for people who know how to use these beyond just casual chat bots).
Practical, hands-on problem solver who doesn’t mind experimenting until things work cleanly.
Reliable, communicative, and respectful working in a residential setting.
If you love tinkering with smart devices, home servers, or IoT tech and want steady part-time hours, shoot me a reply with a quick note about your experience with Home Assistant or your favorite tech tools. If you have a resume go ahead and send that as well. Thanks.
