The Logistics Agent (Part-Time) is responsible for coordinating international air and ocean freight shipments, ensuring the efficient movement of cargo from origin to destination. This role manages shipment tracking, export documentation, AES/EEI filings, customer and carrier communications, and regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, and capable of managing multiple shipments simultaneously while providing exceptional service to customers, carriers, and overseas partners. The Logistics Agent plays a critical role in ensuring timely deliveries, documentation accuracy, and the smooth execution of freight forwarding operations.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate international Air Freight and Ocean Freight (FCL/LCL) shipments from origin to destination.
Prepare, review, and process shipping and export documentation, including Commercial Invoices, Packing Lists, Bills of Lading (B/L), Air Waybills (AWB), Certificates of Origin, and other customs-related documents.
File Electronic Export Information (EEI) through the Automated Export System (AES) and maintain compliance with U.S. export regulations.
Coordinate with airlines, steamship lines, overseas agents, customs brokers, warehouses, trucking companies, and customers to ensure smooth cargo movement.
Track and monitor shipments, providing proactive updates on shipment status, customs clearance, transit delays, vessel departures, flight schedules, and final delivery.
Schedule pickups, deliveries, and appointments with shippers, consignees, carriers, and service providers.
Resolve transportation issues, including delays, missed appointments, detention charges, and delivery exceptions.
Maintain accurate shipment records and perform administrative and data-entry tasks related to freight operations.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Bilingual English and Spanish (written and verbal).
1+ years of experience in logistics, freight forwarding, transportation, freight brokerage, dispatch, or supply chain operations.
Strong customer service, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple shipments simultaneously.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, and Word).
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Work Schedule
Part-Time Position
20-30 hours per week
Flexible schedule, including availability during peak shipping periods when required.
