Café Deux, a cafe/restaurant/bar in the heart of Harrison, NY, is looking for a talented Barista to join our team.
As a Barista, you will provide friendly & skillful service to create an exceptional experience for our guests. Each barista’s primary objective is to supply all coffee and non-coffee beverages ordered by the guests at the counter in timely fashion, ensuring each drink has been prepared following the company standard recipes with consistency.
Some responsibilities include:
-Operate the barista station with efficiency, respect, professionalism, and initiative on daily basis.
-Engage with guests in a positive manner: by greeting them, answering their questions, making recommendations, etc.
-Work as a team player with the team of servers, bartenders, and bussers.
-Demonstrate technical skills while using coffee equipment.
-Show consistency and efficiency in the making of coffee drinks.
-Have full understanding and knowledge of all beverages being served from your station.
-Always maintain a calm and positive demeanor, especially through morning rush.
-Previous experience with POS system.
-Maintain coffee, tea, beverages, and coffee supplies inventory up to company pars level.
-Maintain safe and healthy work environment by following company standard and regulations.
-Maintain barista station always clean by following and applying BOH protocols.
Qualifications
- *2+ years of Barista experience required*
-Bar/cocktail knowledge is a plus, though not required.
-Be able to multitask and prioritize duties
-Excellent verbal and communications skills
-Able to stand and walk for prolonged periods of time
-Able to perform bending, crouching, twisting, and repetitive motions
-Able to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 25 lbs.
-Communicative and team oriented working style
-Familiarity with POS systems and cash handling (Toast preferred)
Open availability is preferred. Morning and weekends mostly.
