Vintage Frederick Post 1444 P 6" Slide Rule with Original Leather Case – WWII Era – Excellent Condition
This is an early 1940s Frederick Post 1444 P six inch pocket slide rule, produced during the WWII period when Post supplied mathematical instruments for engineering students, military technical training programs, and industrial use. This example is exceptionally well preserved, with bright, clean scales, a smooth cursor, and crisp markings throughout. The plastic body shows no warping, yellowing, or edge damage, and the cursor frame moves freely and aligns accurately across all scales.
Included is the original brown leather case, embossed with the Post logo and model number. The leather remains supple and intact, with stitching in strong condition. A previous owner’s name and address are handwritten on the case, a common feature on wartime and postwar technical instruments, adding a bit of personal history without affecting functionality.
The slide rule itself appears barely used, retaining the clean, sharp appearance collectors look for. All scales, including A, B, C, CI, D, and K, are fully legible and ready for display or use. This is a compact, authentic WWII era technical tool in unusually fine condition, ideal for collectors of vintage engineering instruments, mid century industrial design, or historical scientific tools.
